A significant milestone for aged care in Adelaide's northwest was marked yesterday as we officially broke ground on our new residential aged care home. Located at 46-52 Crittenden Rd, Findon, the project will transform the vacant block into a modern, resident-focused, 124-place aged care home, representing our commitment to providing person-centred, compassionate care for more Australians.
The special occasion brought together community representatives, including Senator Karen Grogan, and featured a Welcome to Country ceremony performed by Southern Cultural Immersion owner, Corey Turner.
"We are excited to mark the construction of our new home in Adelaide, which will provide much needed aged care services to the local community. As our 20th home in South Australia, Estia Health Findon will help us extend our care to approximately 2,000 older South Australians annually," shared Sean Bilton.
Once completed, the thoughtfully designed home will provide numerous multi-purpose spaces and services for residents including a cafe, hairdresser, Wellness Hub, and a dedicated memory support area.
Designed to fit in with local surrounds, the two-storey building will feature five self-contained care wings with dedicated dining areas, lounges, activity rooms, and outdoor spaces, including generously sized landscaped courtyards where future residents will find comfort, connection, and care.
"Our person-centred clinical care model, led by an experienced team of aged care Registered Nurses, will be complemented in partnership with medical professionals providing rehabilitation and wellness programs accessible to both residents and the local community," added Bilton.
The home, which is scheduled for completion in mid-2026, represents a significant investment in the local economy and will create employment for more than 150 people across various care and hospitality roles once fully operational.
We're proud to expand our service to the Findon community and continue our journey of making a meaningful difference in the lives of older Australians.
